HD cameras that fit in your pocket

A small video camera can be a fun and powerful tool in the hands of children (and adults!). Families and schools everywhere are discovering the potential of these camcorders that easily fit in one’s pocket or purse. Most come with preloaded software that allows users to quickly create fun movies and/or upload to online video sites like YouTube. Check them out!

Monster mind reader

Pick a number between 1 and 99 (for example, 43). Add up the digits (4 + 3) and subtract the total from your number (43 – 7 = 36). The monster mind reader will guess the symbol for your number. This is truly mindblowing!

Pocket change from the U.S. Mint

Olivia wrote in to say that she likes the U.S. Mint's web site for children, Pocket Change. At the site, roll your mouse over the coins on the left to see the various activities that kids can do. Thanks, Olivia!

Line Rider

If you’ve never played the classic Line Rider game before, you’re in for a real treat. The premise of the game is simple: draw a bunch of lines and try to keep your penguin on the path. Warning: it’s harder than it looks AND it’s highly addictive!

Parents, your child will learn a little bit of physics along the way and you’ll be itching to try it yourself. Boatloads of fun for the whole family!

[Note: There’s a new version of Line Rider available too. You’ll have to install the Microsoft Silverlight plugin to play it.]
